“The time is ripe for looking back over the day, the week, the year, and trying to figure out where we have come from and where we are going to, for sifting through the things we have done and the things we have left undone for a clue to who we are and who, for better or worse, we are becoming.”~Frederick Buechner from Secrets in the Dark

Who do you want to become in 2015?  That is what New Year’s Resolutions are all about, isn’t it?  In 2015 we want to uncover the stress free version of ourselves, the healthier version of ourselves, the more spiritual version of ourselves… So who do you want to become in the year ahead?

Sometimes when formulating resolutions we think of the changes we want to see, but don’t spend time on the vision for how it is that we will get there.  Any resolution cannot be realized without commitment and dedication to living into it.  Think back to the end of 2013- how have you changed, for the better or the worse, over the last 12 months? Are you happy with who you have become? Do you think God is well pleased?

None of us want to be stagnant, yet without commitment and vision it is so easy to get stuck.  We all what growth in someway or another, but true growth is difficult without intention and dedication.  So looking into the year on the horizon, what path do you want to follow? Every day will will take another steps (really many steps) on your path to becoming a new you.  Will those steps lead you to a closer relationship with God?  Will they lead you to a healthier life?  Will they lead you to a sense of peace and joy?  Choose today to make a commitment to “you” you want to be at the end of 2015 and begin taking steps this very moment to realize your vision.  May your daily steps bring you closer to God and closer to the abundant life that God promises.  Happy New Year!
